![]() 2011/2012 Young Artist SeriesAbout the Young Artist Series“As part of its mission, Fabrefaction Theatre Company has an education component to develop the next generation of thespians. A hidden new gem in Atlanta’s theatre scene, Fabrefaction Theatre Company is a destination venue.” – Wilson Trivino, Atlanta writer Through our Young Artist Series we offer aspiring actors age 5-19 opportunities to perform and cultivate their skills through shows that are of the same performance quality as and billed alongside our professional productions. Performance is at the core of our curriculum – teaching through production, because we believe the best way to learn how to perform is through doing rather than studying. Actors pay tuition to be part of these productions, as training is the primary focus during rehearsals. In this way, students are allowed to develop their skills onstage in a live, relevant setting. Focus is placed on developing good speech, adopting professional rehearsal and performance habits, vocal techniques during musicals, and performance techniques. The specific acting methods taught vary per show depending on the director. Actors are introduced to Stanislovsky based techniques ranging from Strasberg, Adler, and Meisner to Practical Aesthetics. More advanced students are also introduced to the fundamentals of Viewpoints, and acting techniques inspired by traditional Asian performing arts. See what’s performing this year! The professionalism of the company and the quality of the production made it seem like the company has been around for 50 years, and yet we were in a brand new state-of-the-art facility! Thanks, Fabrefaction.” - Jenny Sharma FTCollaborative Series We also offer workshops to supplement the acting training learned throughout working on shows.
